B.M.C Audio at CES 2012
The original Arcadia design has been made back in 1995 as a very functional, but stylish bipolar speaker solution. The first slightly different sample we use as our reference since 2005. Specifically due to very intensive request from our US distribution this project was realized ahead of the original schedule. The Arcadia will most likely be available in April 2012. Further information about pricing and available colors will be published on release.
Vivid Audio's New G3
On February 1 my review of the Vivid Audio Giya G2 loudspeaker, which sells for $50,000 per pair, will be published on SoundStage! Hi-Fi. I don't want to give away too much from the review, but I will tell you two things: the G2 is the best loudspeaker I've ever heard, and it may well be the best loudspeaker in the world at this time. It's a radical-looking speaker that produces ridiculously good sound -- sound that's clearer, cleaner, and more effortless than most audiophiles have ever heard.
CES & THE Show 2012
Vivid's latest creation is the Giya G3 ($40,000/pair), a very curvaceous speaker that's somewhat easier to accommodate than its G1 and G2 stablemates on account of its 3' 9" height. It still incorporates the technologies that make this South African brand so distinctive. Designer Lawrence Dickie has used more obvious tapered-tube loading for the drivers, and this will remind many that this same designer created the Nautilus for B&W back in the 1990s.
Dechen launch with G1
Dechen Shak-Dagsay, a Tibetan who has spent most of her life in Switzerland, releases her new album CHILDREN BEYOND with Tina Turner and Regula Curti on Universal Music Switzerland and Germany. The album contains beautiful Prayers of the religious traditions of this world that the artists sang together with 30 children from the age of 6 to 13.
A dream and an amazing birthday gift comes true for Dechen! The legendary U.S. Composer Philipp Glass has invited Dechen and her JEWEL Ensemble to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York on Monday, 13th February 2012.
